Through God's Grace, Mercy and Strength Bush Chapel CPCA has been a part of the community for 135 years and counting.

Rev. Bragner, John Bush, Jerry Bush, Mrs. Martha Bush, Gracie Bush, Josie Bush, Mary Welch, Amanda Boseman, and Annie Rivers organized the Bush Chapel Church in 1874 under a brush arbor.  In 1877, the first building was erected on/near the site of the present church grounds.  The church served as a school as it was the first public school for the Elm Mott Community.  Two of its first teachers were Mary A. Bush and Rev. Doc Robinson.

J.S. Hamilton organized the first Homecoming Rally with the purpose of raising funds to repair and maintain the church.
